IMO the Toyos had a better ride and did better in the rain. In particular Toyo open country AT3 vs BFG KO2 are the 2 best quality product sets today. We have also noticed that both these tires have very low rolling resistance which translates to saving a lot of fuel.

KO2 due to its lower void ratio excels in on-road traction whereas a higher void ratio. AT3 cons - they dont look as cool as the RG. I have the least experience with the Toyo AT3s so I cant give any personal feedback.

I had Toyos on my 97 4Runner years ago and they were great from what I remember. I will mostly be driving highway miles but will be hitting some trails on the weekend. Yes its louder and a little heavier and wont handle as good as an all season highway tire like comes on the 4runner from the factory but thats the tradeoff.
